What is VitaDock®?
VitaDock® is Medisana's newest line of products, dealing with the branch of mobile health. It consists of an application as well as several measuring modules.

VitaDock® App is the central software used for the communication among all measuring modules.
Which systems does VitaDock® support?
Presently VitaDock® App supports Apple iOS systems 3.2 onwards.
In which languages is VitaDock® App available?
VitaDock® App is available in German, English, French, Italian, Spanish, and Dutch.
What do I need to use the VitaDock® products?
To use the VitaDock® products, you only need the VitaDock® App and an iPhone, iPod touch or an iPad.
Where can I buy the VitaDock® products?
The VitaDock® products are available amongst others in the T-shops of the German Telekom, Gravis, Media Markt, Saturn, Arctic, Metro and in pharmacies.
Where can I get the VitaDock® App and how much does it cost?
You can download the VitaDock® App for free in the Apple App Store.
How do I install the VitaDock® App?
The installation of the VitaDock® App is easy and fast. Just connect the VitaDock® module with your iPhone and you will automatically be guided during the installation. Simply follow the step by step instructions on your screen. Please note that for downloading the App, an internet access is required.
How will I be informed about VitaDock® App updates?
Apple App Store automatically informs you when an update is available. The update can be downloaded easily with just one click. The App will be installed automatically.
With which Apple devices can I use the VitaDock® products?
You can use the VitaDock® products with your iPhone (4, 3GS, 3G), iPod touch (4, 3, 2 Generation) and iPad (1 and 2).
Can I also use the VitaDock® products with other Smartphones (or PDA, Tablet PC etc.)?
Since the VitaDock® product series have been developed specifically to be used with Apple devices, it is not possible to use the products with other Smartphones (or PDA, Tablet PC etc.).
Can I also use the VitaDock® products without an iPhone, iPod touch or iPad?
To use the VitaDock® modules, you need an iPhone, iPod touch or iPad, so the captured values from the VitaDock® module can be transferred and displayed on your Apple device. The TargetScale can be used with limited functionality also without an Apple device.
Where does VitaDock® save my personal data and measured values?
Your data is directly stored on your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad. There is no temporary storage like you know from a server, so that you have full control of your data.
Is my data safe?
Of course. Since the data is directly stored on your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad, you have full control of your data. Only you decide whether you want to share your data with others or not.
How many readings can be saved?
The number of stored values generally depends on the storage capacity of your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad. The individual values only require small storage capacity. If you exhaust the full capacity of your iPhone it is theoretically possible to save the data for many years.
Is it possible to export the data?
Yes, it is. The VitaDock® App has a function which allows to send the stored data via email. So you have the option to inform your doctor or friends about your physical condition on a regular base.
How can I create another user account?
Within the VitaDock® App you have the possibility to add up to 3 additional user profiles. Tap on "Personal Settings" and log into the current user profile. Once you are logged into your user profile, you have the option to create another profile. Just tap "New User Profile". Afterwards you have the possibility to create another one.
How many user accounts can I create?
You can create up to 4 user accounts within the VitaDock® App.
How can I delete a user profile?
Start the VitaDock® App and log into your user profile. Tap the button "Edit". Next to the user profile, you will find the option to delete it. The deleted user profile is moved to the folder "Inactive User Profile". Within a period of 14 days, you have the option to restore the deleted user profile just by a quick tap. Thus, your user account will not be deleted accidentally. After 14 days, the user profile will automatically and permanently be deleted from the App.
Why do I occationally see the display "This accessory is not designed to use with the iPhone" while using the VitaDock® devices?
If the VitaDock® App does not run/start properly or shows the message "This accessory is not designed to use with the iPhone", there can be more reasons for that:
Reason 1:
It is possible, that there are open applications in the background of the iPhone, which have not been used for a while. In the "Standby Mode" these running Apps can use a lot of computing resources and battery life of the iPhone. The more programmes running in the background, the higher the computer usage and energy consumption is. Depending on the iPhone generation and the number of programms running, the iPhone stops to respond correctly or slows down the processes. The iPhone 3 is more sensitive than the iPhone 4.
Solution a:
You should include these into the standby running programms: In this process no data or Apps will be deleted. Please tap the Homebutton on your iPhone two times. A new window on the screen below will open. This window shows which programms run in the background or standby mode. Tap an App for two seconds until a small minus sign appears. Tap on the minus sign of every App and close all of them one by one. When all the applications are closed, close the bottom window by pressing the Homebutton once. Now start the App again and try the Medisana device.
Solution b:
If these steps, as described before, do not help, please try the following: iPhone "Softreset". With "Softreset" no data or Apps will be deleted. Please press the Homebutton and the Stopbutton at the same time until the "grey apple" appears on the iPhone and it reboots. Therefore, please keep pressing the buttons for at least six seconds.
Reason 2:
The original operating system (iOS) is not installed on your iPhone.
Solution:
Please connect your iPhone with iTunes and update the operating software.
Will the VitaDock® products be compatible with other manufacturers or is this considered for the future?
At the moment the VitaDock® products are compatible only for touch-enabled Apple devices. For the future Medisana will design VitaDock® products, which can be used with Android devices.
Are the VitaDock® products compatible with MAC Laptops or PC's?
At the moment the VitaDock® are only compatible with touch-enabled Apple devices.
Can I delete single data or comments on the VitaDock® App?
No, the data can not be deleted.
Can I save data or comments in the VitaDock® App later on?
No, the data and comments can not be saved later on.
